The Hive Hotel

The Hive Hotel ★★★★

📍 Via Torino, 6, Esquilino, Rome

"An excellent choice if you’re planning a trip to Rome. The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from Roma Termini and about 5 minutes from Repubblica metro station. Trams and several bus lines run nearby, making it easy to get around. Both the Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum, as well as many of Rome’s other popular attractions, are about a 15-20 minute walk away. The hotel is quite large, and the room we chose was very spacious and spotless, with daily housekeeping. It included everything we needed: a hairdryer, shampoo, and various toiletries (such as a shower cap and slippers). The room also had a desk, a safe, a television, a comfortable armchair, and a fairly large wardrobe. There was also a minibar and a kettle, with complimentary coffee sachets provided daily. The staff were polite and helpful whenever we needed assistance. The hotel also offers free luggage storage, which is very convenient if you arrive before check-in time or if your flight departs late in the evening. Thank you for the wonderful stay. Highly recommended!"

V Collection Vatican Jubilee Guest House
9.2 (84 reviews)

V Collection Vatican Jubilee Guest House ★★

📍 Piazza Americo Capponi 13, Interno 2 Scala A, Borgo, Rome

"Quite satisfied, superior location, thoughtful service, large rooms new facilities, recommended to stay, in Rome travel stay here walking major attractions are feasible, Rome is not all by citywalk, bus traffic jams can not, subway has not sat estimated inconvenient, still 11 road reliable, 30,000 steps a day, about 3 days to get Rome City!"

Hotel Stromboli
8.0 (862 reviews)

Hotel Stromboli ★★★

📍 Via Marsala, 34, Castro Pretorio, Rome

"Hotel Stromboli was a steal compared to other places. For a solo traveller, the room was more than adequate: - Air conditioning (not very cold, but adequate) - Super single bed - Refrigerator - Desk - Sizable private toilet with bidet - Multiple charging ports with usb ports, too. It's literally just outside Roma Termini (central station between cities and the airport) and was extremely connected with buses and metro lines as well. Service was good, and for guest safety the door is locked past midnight (though there was always a staff member ready to let me in promptly)."

"We booked this hotel mainly because of the location and the indoor pool for our little one. Breakfast is good, location is close to bus stops and main train station (Roma Termini) and hotel is relatively new. We were happy except for its soundproofing which we initially dont mind but we had a neighbor who knocked on our door very loudly and complained of our noise. We just went home after a long and tiring day, turned on the tv for few minutes while we shower, suddenly there was a loud knock on our door with a lady raising her voice because we were too loud. I have a child who’s not even that noisy, and our tv was only at a volume of 8. It was a normal noise. Our daughter was traumatized by her. So if you are too sensitive with noise, better not book here for your peace of mind. We could also hear neighbors showering, drying hair and moving chairs but we did not mind! We travel a lot and this is our first experience of someone complaining our noise. This ruined our experience. We informed the management and they advised us to move our rooms but the lady next door already left so we did not bother. Anyway overall, we are still contented with our stay."

"The hotel is not far from the subway exit. We arrived around 8 PM and had to walk through a residential area. However, please be aware that the surrounding environment is incredibly bad; the streets reek of urine and are piled with trash. There are very few people around, and we saw many strange individuals loitering, which made us feel very unsafe. I would not recommend it for solo female travelers. There's a 24-hour Carrefour nearby, but no decent restaurants. Check-in was very slow. There were three staff members at the front desk, but only one was processing check-ins. We waited nearly half an hour while two families checked in before us. The only positives were its proximity to the Vatican Museums and the fact that breakfast was quite varied. The room also had a kettle and a fridge. Overall, I do not recommend this hotel. It was the only hotel during our Italy trip that we were dissatisfied with."

"I liked that the bed has privacy as you can close the sliding doors. The breakfast was okay and the service was also good. The girl at the reception with curly hair was really nice and loved her Harry Styles playlist. The lounge area was also good and nice place to wait for your train or to check in. Not too far from places."

"When we arrived they gave us different room from the one we've booked and payed, instead of one double and one single bed....er got just one double bed. When I asked why: they said that this is because they decided that we are two people so we don't need two beds. In that case we were 2 co-workers not a couple.... We had to sleep together. They also refused to return the money difference for the type of the smaller room. The spa tub wasn't working, not even the hairdryer ( they had second one on the wall very small one which was blowing very little air not enough to dry our hair) , the coffee machine wasn't in good shape too. When I asked for the payment invoice they refused to give me one ! So my expenses on accomodation cannot be added to my business trip . I wouldn't recommend the location neither, it is dirty and not safe especially in nighttime ( something like Chinatown) . The building is old with internal view windows. The only good thing in that apartment was the cleaning lady . Very kind and helpful person. I don't recommend that place ."

"The hotel is clean. The staff is responsive, friendly, and speaks English. On the downside: the room is very small; a large suitcase can only be opened either on the bed or in the entryway, blocking the exit. Also, the power outlet is only accessible from one side of the bed, which is inconvenient for two people. There are only six hangers, which is not enough for two women, and there's no iron at all. Slippers, bathrobes, and basic amenities (cotton swabs, cotton pads, toothbrush, razor) are not provided. On the plus side, breakfast is delicious, and the buffet is varied."

"Loved our stay here. Staff were super welcoming and helpful. We were able to check in early which we were extremely happy about with it being so hot outside. The location is fantastic being walking distance to Vatican City, metro, supermarket and restaurants all close by. Room was nice and quiet, although bathroom very small. Would stay here again 😊"
